State wide Trinamool protest over central dues causes traffic in North Kolkata

Today, state Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya led a protest against the Central Government's recent ban, echoing the sentiments of TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee. The protest decision was made at the meeting held at Netaji Indoor Stadium. TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee  had instructed the party workers to join her in protest against the central ban on 2nd and 3rd of December.

Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers, following Banerjee's directive, gathered across the state on December 2nd and 3rd, demanding the release of outstanding amounts for various central schemes, including MNREGA. The protests, marked by rallies and demonstrations, unfolded in different parts of the state, with a significant gathering in North Dumdum, where a meeting was organized under the leadership of State Minister MLA Chandrima Bhattacharya and Municipal Chief Bidhan Biswas.

Protests have been staged at various locations, including Binnaguri, Mantadari, Majhiyali, Shikarpur, and Fulbari in the Rajganj block.

In response to Dilip Ghosh's comments regarding BJP MLAs insulting the national anthem, Chandrima Bhattacharya stated that while she was unaware of Ghosh's remarks, BJP MLAs had allegedly insulted the national anthem during TMC's program. Consequently, a complaint was filed with the Chief, and the matter was transferred to the Kolkata Police.

Amidst the political tension, three more BJP MLAs have been summoned by the anti-gang wing of the Kolkata Police in connection with the National Anthem 'insult' case in the Vidhan Sabha. This development follows the earlier summoning of five BJP MLAs named in the initial FIR.
